Kairos — the habits in your book, on your calendar

Kairos reads the book you are reading and lists the habits the author asks you to build. You pick the ones you want, and it puts them on your calendar, one at a time, around what is already there.

You read it. You underlined the parts you meant to start. Then Monday came and none of it was anywhere. Nothing was wrong with the book. It was never on your calendar, so it never happened. A page you meant to act on is not a plan. A time on a day is.

Give Kairos your copy of the book, as an EPUB, a PDF or a text file. It reads the whole thing and writes out every habit the author asks you to build: what to do, how long it takes, and when. Each one names the chapter it came from and what the author offers as evidence for it. Kairos tells you what the book says. It does not tell you the book is right. Pick three. Leave the rest. Nobody does a hundred.

Kairos puts the first habit on your calendar at the same time every day, in a window you can slide on a day that does not cooperate. It starts small and adds a little each week. One day a week stays clear. Miss a day and nothing is taken away: the plan absorbs it and carries on. No streaks and no counters. In the study people quote most, Lally 2010, the time to a settled habit ran from 18 to 254 days. So Kairos ramps, rather than promise you a date.

Kairos makes its own calendar, called Kairos, and writes only there. It never edits or deletes anything it did not put there. Hide that calendar or delete it and the rest of your week is untouched. Before the first thing is written, it shows you the first week and waits for you to say yes.
